Celebrate the FSF's 35th birthday with a beautiful limited edition poster or T-shirt designed by free culture illustrator David Revoy:

Added another architecture to my Linux-libre APT repository at - The Motorola 68000 series (68020 or later; an MMU is required.)

A friend of mine had been saying they wanted this for a while. This brings the number of supported architectures up to either 10 or 11, depending on how you count. What next?

Happy GNUiversary!

On this day, 37 years ago, Richard Stallman announced the GNU Project and with it launched the entire free software movement.

A Thank You Letter From Coronavirus to My Enablers in the United States #corona #covid

This is really rude of you Corona chan, our country too deserves a "thank you" from you.

Got my flu shot. Doing my part for herd immunity.

I just realized that my APT repository for Linux-libre is 9 years old this month.

I was reading how an asteroid will come close by the planet on election day. It's so Trump can hitch a ride and go back home?

Ah ha; the moment has arrived. The uncompressed kernel source code for 5.9 has reached 1GB.

Does anyone plan to watch the launch of Perseverance and Ingenuity on Thursday? I understand the launch will be streamed live via NASA TV.

I like my GNU/Linux distros to be boring and uneventful. Specifically: Releases that happen at 2 - 5 year intervals and where package version numbers are frozen in time on release. This lets me work on the things I want to work on and not spending my time on fixing the distro. Can't remember where I heard this one: "The bleeding edge is stained by the blood of the users."

Oh, derp. I'm so stupid. I thought "Oh I should apply package updates and then after doing so I stupidly restarted the computer that was doing kernel stuff. As I saw the SSH connection close in the other window I immediately thought "Wait, what? Oh yeah; I was using that computer." Now to start over...

I am currently building Linux-libre for amd64, arm64, armhf, i386, or1k, powerpc, ppc64, ppc64el, and riscv64. Should I add anything else?

GNU Linux-libre 5.7 (the freedom-respecting version of Linux) is now available in my APT repository: Enjoy!

I'd like to thank someone -- who asked to stay anonymous -- with donating 2 build servers for Linux-libre. You know who you are.

It's Monday. Go make a programming language.

An odd sight: A golden number 5 just floated by within view of my window. It was a balloon. Someone must have lost it. Number 5 is alive?
