It's early in the morning when my alarm clock goes off. Almost on autopilot I think "It's time to go feed Tasha & Colin." After putting down the two food bowls I remember, and cry.

One of my two cats, Tasha, died today April 5 as her battle with kidney failure came to an end. She was at least 20 years old and had a good life, insisting on sleeping with me every night. Goodbye, Tasha. I'll miss you.

I broke my favorite cup. After using it to drink some water I accidentally dropped it into the sink where it promptly shattered.

All set! Everything's in order for me to get vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.

Yesterday I bought chocolate-covered almonds and chocolate-covered macadamia nuts.

Gave the cat some catnip. He's rolling around with it and have a good time.

GNU Linux-libre 5.11 is now available in my APT repository for lots of systems: amd64, arm64, armhf, i386, m68k, or1k, powerpc, ppc64, ppc64el, riscv64, s390x, sparc64. Enjoy.

This is a picture of the cat in question sitting inside the cat condo.

The moment the alarm goes off and I wake up the cat's all "Hey - I want food. I want food!"

Here's my public safety announcement: Have you backed up today?

Added another architecture to my Linux-libre APT repository at - 64-bit SPARC processors. There are freely-licensed designs like the OpenSPARC at which has been placed under the GPL. Why should RISC-V get all of the love for that? :) This brings the number of supported architectures up to either 12 or 13, depending on how you count. What next?

As I update kernel configs for Linux-libre 5.10 it sort of feels like the pre-launch sequence for the space shuttle.

Do you do your computing on big iron like the IBM Z or LinuxONE mainframes? Linux-libre is there now.

Interesting that Trump & others want to complain about voting fraud when it comes to losing the Presidency but not when it comes to votes that are in their favor for the Senate, even though these are all being cast from the very same ballots.

Reading the news it seems somewhat paradoxical that the government wants backdoors in encryption but not the kind that can be used against them. You can't have it both ways.
